Training & Development
Training (or "learning") and development is a command and individual responsibility. Success in this area is fundamental to success in our lives, our work and our public service as Companions. Training and development create new knowledge, skills, abilities and confidence.
Knowing what benefits we want from learning helps motivate us to design our own training plans and programs. One of the biggest benefits is continuous learning--whether or not one is in a formal training program.
We're most familiar with formal and other-directed forms of learning and development that include a strong focus on systematic structure. However, the most common forms of learning and development are informal and self-directed.
