Homeland Security Program
Homeland security starts in hometowns. MOWW encourages MOWW chapters to assist communities in being prepared, providing first aid and emergency skills training, and supporting local emergency responders, disaster relief and more. MOWW committed is to supporting efforts to secure the US Homeland against terrorist attacks and other threats, and to encourage emergency preparedness and support recovery capabilities.
MOWW Chapters work with local authorities in preparing for emergencies and with media to educate the public on homeland security issues. Chapters also recognize first responders, e.g., Sky Marshals, Customs & Border Security personnel, and US Coast Guard personnel. In addition, they partner with local authorities/schools on training, e.g., first aid, CPR, or preparing for natural disasters. Additionally, chapters support citizen preparedness and citizen emergency response team activities, and volunteer in emergency shelters, neighborhood watch, among other activities.
